And so, we arrive at the end of another month. I can’t comprehend how fast May has gone. I swear I blinked once and now it’s the 31st. There is a lot going on behind the scenes at the moment. Everything is packed up ready for the move and there have just been a LOT of changes and chaos. I have a newfound appreciation for not moving house. It is an underrated experience and I wish I had appreciated it more. Not being surrounded by boxes, what an absolute luxury, ha!

There is something quietly reassuring about the way the world continues to begin again. No matter what yesterday carried, morning arrives without asking whether we are ready for it. Another day unfolds, another horizon appears, and with it comes the possibility that life might hold something we could not yet see from where we stood before. Where The Tide Turns is about that moment. The quiet shift when survival begins to become possibility, when strength returns almost unnoticed, and we finally begin moving towards something rather than simply away from what came before. There may still be uncertain waters ahead, but something within us has changed. Perhaps that is where every new beginning truly starts, not when the storm disappears, but when we realise it no longer decides our direction.

There are times in life when moving forward feels like pushing against a force determined to carry us backwards. Against The Current is about the strength we find in those moments. The quiet defiance of continuing when it would be easier to surrender to the direction everything seems to be pulling us, and the courage it takes to choose our own path when the easier one has already been chosen for us.

We may not always notice the exact moment it happens. But eventually, we look back and realise this was where the tide turned. April broke my heart, but May is here now, and as sure as the sun will rise and the tide will lap against the shore, I will thrive.
