Charlotte Emily Murray, known professionally as Charlie, is an internationally established digital artist specialising in vibrant contemporary digital fine art. Her work is fuelled by the adversity of being partially sighted, but what she lacks in eyesight she makes up for in inspirational vision, wild unfailing creativity and ceaseless passion.

Charlie draws inspiration from the two worlds that she lives in, the first is the beautiful historic city she inhabits, a place lined with art galleries, bookstores, and magnificent libraries, where she can freely walk in the footsteps of literary giants like C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien and Oscar Wilde. A place where Art in all its many wonderful forms is celebrated loudly and proudly, the passionate dance of history and life flows infinitely and the unyielding creative energy is pure alchemical magnetism.

The second world lies between many pages, in many ages, on many shelves, in many volumes. She’s wandered across the Yorkshire Moors with The Brontes, roamed all over Wessex with Thomas Hardy, fallen in love time and again with Jane Austen. She’s sailed a raft with Huck and Jim, travelled from Troy to Ithica with Odysseus, strolled down Swann’s Way and saved Middle Earth with Frodo and Sam to name just some of the hundreds of adventures that fill her second world. Both worlds are tied together with the beautiful rhythms of music that fill every possible moment in her days.

 

About Escapade 1461, this was a project Charlie started in 2024, aged 33. It was inspired by the rapidly changing landscape of her life at that time and by Vincent Van Gogh, an eternal muse of hers. When Vincent was 33, he had just 1461 days of life left. He naturally didn’t know that at the time, but Charlie found herself wondering what, if anything, he might’ve done differently or created more of had he known that and so Escapade 1461 was created to celebrate making the most of life and creativity every day.

A pioneer in many ways, Charlie has also co-founded the incredible revolutionary art experience Artstrophotography with renowned Astrophotographer Moonman.
