Welcome to my July collection of Original Contemporary Digital Fine Art! Moving house has a peculiar way of making you consider what it means to carry a life from one place to another. As I packed mine into boxes ready to move this July, I found myself thinking about all the things we accumulate that could never be packed away. The words we have read, the songs we have loved, the films we return to, the places we have called home, the people we have known and the memories scattered amongst them. Small fragments collected across a lifetime that somehow become part of who we are.

The feathers throughout this collection grew from that idea, I began to imagine life as a kind of migration. As we travel through it, we leave feathers behind in the places we have been, while gathering others from everything that touches us along the way. Some remain with us for years, some drift away almost unnoticed, others become so deeply woven into us that we carry them for the rest of our lives. Like a bird in flight, we carry what belongs to us, shed what no longer needs to follow, and continue towards whatever horizon comes next.

An Ever Fixed Mark

Life has a habit of rearranging itself around us, homes change, landscapes change, people come and go, and the paths we thought we knew can suddenly lead somewhere entirely unexpected. Yet amongst all that movement, there are certain things we carry so deeply within us that they become part of who we are. An Ever-Fixed Mark takes it's name from Shakespeare's Sonnet 116 and is about those constants, not just love as Shakespeare wrote about but all of it. The words, stories, songs, memories and loves that travel with us from one chapter to another, gathering meaning as the years pass becoming small points of familiarity within an ever-changing world, reminding us that moving forward does not require us to leave everything behind.
